Hi ,

Amazon Game Studios and Crystal Dynamics have just released the newest mini-documentary episode on the making of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a stunning reimagining of Lara Croft’s defining 1996 debut adventure.

This week, we’re revealing more details behind Egypt, the level shown off in the most recent Nintendo Direct.

“Egypt will be recognizable,” Jeff Adams, Experience Director at Crystal Dynamics said. “There’s going to be a lot of locations that fans will see from the first game. We have made some creative choices here and there to not only make sure it’s respectful but furthering the story we’re telling. We’re looking forward to people seeing what happens when you walk through Egypt with a flashlight.”

Egypt was one of the most iconic locations from the original Tomb Raider, and for good reason. It embodies the most powerful parts of the Lara Croft power fantasy and lets Lara dig into some actual tombs, where both fictional and real Egyptian gods were worshipped.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will launch Feb. 12, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
